Millet Dumplings
Ingredients : Barnyard Millet 3/4 cup Moong Dal 1/4 cup Water 2 cups Almonds Crushed 3 Tbsp Salt, Turmeric and Green Chili as needed Seasoning (Oil 2 tsp, Chana Dal 2 tsp, Urad Dal 1 tsp, Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp, Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp, Asafoetidaa couple pinches, curry leaves few)
Recipe :Soak the Barnyard millet and Moong dal separately for about 10 minutes. Drain them and set aside. Heat a pan, add oil and all the seasoning ingredients. Once the seasoning is done, add the drained Moong dal and Barnyard millet. Add the crushed almonds and sauté for a minute or two. Add salt, turmeric and finely chopped green chili and sauté for another minute. Pour 2 cups of water and let it cook for about 7-8 minutes. Lower the heat and cover. Remove from heat and allow to cool down. Take multiple small portion, roll into any shape desired and place in a steamer basket. Steam for about 10 minutes. Remove and allow to cool. Serve warm with coconut chutney. . .
